In January, 2010 Emily gave birth to her first child and in October of the same year LRY was born! The three co-founders, Emily Garrett, Sofi Dillof and Jane Lanza, attended meetings with Tate strapped to Emily’s chest.

After looking at many spaces, and not finding the right fit, an influential teacher asked Emily “Do you have the courage to wait for the phenomenal world?”, a guiding principle to this day.
Soon after, Emily, Sofi and Jane walked into the current space and immediately felt a “YES”. The energy in the room was palpable. Turns out that the space had a long history of being used for movement practices, including yoga and dance!
Over 40 people attended the very first class, Monday night Kripalu, and within months we took down an internal wall to make more room for students.
