November at LRY: FIFTEEN

FIFTEEN is a number that, like an equilateral triangle, reminds me of balance. Years zero to five we worked our asses off (and many of you showed up thank you!). Years 6-10 we moved through some big changes in leadership while covid forced us to get creative. Years 11-15 we developed systems and partnerships that we are confident will lead Laughing River toward a sustainable future. I know that we needed each and every experience, the growth and the growing pains, to get us where we are today.

FIFTEEN, being both odd and divisible by 3, reminds me of our team. Devin is 7 years strong in operations and communications. Christina has taken on the responsibility of co-owner and deftly handles teacher training, marketing and programming. Emily handles finances and makes sure we stay committed to the vision of LRY. Each side of the triangle holds the other up.

FIFTEEN feels like an accomplishment! It is not easy to maintain any business for this long. The beauty that I now see is YOU! The stability of our structure and our fifteen year track record allowed the organic unfolding of a beautiful community. We have been through so much, deaths, births, regime changes, natural disasters, job changes, celebrations, both individually and together. The studio remains a haven as we continue to move through.

And our teachers! So much gratitude. LRY is unique in its low turnover rate and consistency of teachers. Many of them have been with us since the very early days! Thank you to all of the amazing teachers who make LRY what it is!
