Each year, YTT focuses on the Yamas & Niyamas and Anatomy.
Yamas are restraints (actions towards others) and Niyamas are observances (actions towards yourself).  LRY YTT discusses here the importance of the Yamas and Niyamas as they encourage one to take responsibility for his or her own actions in the world. Doing so can bring one closer to moving through the world with love. These concepts are a tool to bring practitioners to samadhi (oneness).
Each YTT student chooses one Yama and one Niyama to explore on a deeper level through personal experience – in conjunction with the text Living Love: The Yoga of Yama and Niyamas by Maetreyii Ma Nolan.Malaika DosRemedios helped students understand anatomy as it applies to yoga through small group work, lectures, and games to work through the material. This allowed students to leave the weekend with confidence and empowerment on both a gross and subtle understanding of functional movement of the body/mind connection.
