he/him

Adam has practiced yoga since taking a class to meet a physical education requirement in his senior year of college. He began teaching yoga in 2014 and completed his Yoga Alliance 200-hour teacher certification with John McConnell at the University of Vermont. Adam’s classes emphasize safe alignment, the importance of breath, and a playful curiosity about the physical and spiritual aspects of yoga practice. In addition to teaching regular vinyasa classes, Adam offers yoga workshops geared specifically to men, and for three summers has led popular Yoga on the Dock classes at the Community Sailing Center. A freelance journalist and father of two, Adam uses yoga as a practical means to “conquer the self by means of the self” in the face of life’s daily challenges. Adam’s classes and personal yoga practice are inspired by his teachers, including John McConnell, Lauren Godes, and Kathy McNames.
