Yin Yoga:

A Journey Into the Subtle Body

***This intensive counts as 15 hours towards the Laughing River Yoga 300hr Teacher Training Program.

The subtle body, whether we are aware of it or not, drives our actions and reactions. It is the first place we respond to external circumstances. We often miss this, because very quickly our mind follows with thoughts, judgements and action. When we pause and attune to the subtle body, we can uncover the wisdom that lives there. Yin Yoga offers a framework from which we can see and hear ourselves. We live in a yang culture, and it is imperative that we create balance by learning how to slow down, be present, and attend to our needs. In this week-long intensive we will practice slowing down and tuning in.

You will learn:

  • The philosophy and history behind Yin Yoga

  • Energetic anatomy based on the organ meridians

  • How and why Yin Yoga regulates the nervous system

  • The movement of the 7 diaphragms

  • Basic anatomy of yin yoga poses

  • How to use props wisely and adjust poses for different body types and injuries

  • Ways to create an environment conducive to stillness and self inquiry

This workshop is for anyone interested in regulating their nervous system, harmonizing their life rhythm, and tapping into vital life force!  Also great for yoga teachers who want to add teaching Yin to their repertoire.

This week-long intensive will be held in-person at the Chace Mill, M-F 8-11 am. There will be optional reading homework each night for those in the 300 hr training.
