Twenty years ago I met Nevine Michaan and was introduced to Katonah Yoga. I had been practicing yoga for a few years and wanted to learn more. I recognized after my first class with Nevine that Katonah Yoga made sense of my practice in a way that no other approach had. Today, after more than 20 years of studying and participating in the practice, the intelligence and practicality of Katonah Yoga continues to inform my own practice, how I teach and how I approach my life. The practice creates a framework for me to blend my education as an MSW with the insights I have gained through parenting and my work as an executive recruiter. I moved to Burlington in 2008 and have brought Katonah Yoga with me. I hope that I can inspire my students to explore and grow their practice through the goal of Katonah Yoga, “…the skillful use of mind, body and breath to potentiate will-being”.
