Yoga Anatomy:
The Shoulders & Sculpting a Pose
***This workshop counts as 3 hours towards the Laughing River Yoga 300hr Teacher Training Program.
The shoulder is one of the body’s most mobile joints, offering extraordinary range but often requiring a delicate balance between stability and flexibility. In this workshop, we’ll explore shoulder anatomy to cultivate strength and ease, finding harmony between effort and surrender. Through alignment and mindful practice, discover how “sculpting” your shoulder movements can create a harmonious balance between strength and surrender, enhancing both your yoga practice and everyday posture. Embrace this dance of strength and release, as it benefits both physical stability and emotional resilience.
This workshop will combine foundational anatomy with movement, yoga, guided reflection, and interactive dialogue. You’ll have the chance to embody new knowledge through yoga, enhance body awareness, and engage in Q&A to explore your body’s unique structure and innate wisdom.
Participants are encouraged to bring specific questions about anatomy, their yoga practice or injuries related to each focus area. Together, we’ll explore the body design, alignment, and personalized practices to support your body.
This workshop will be held in-person at the Chace Mill.
This workshop is open to the public, and will be offered at no additional cost to all current 200hr YTT students.
