Yoga Anatomy: The Shoulders & Sculpting a Pose

Highly mobile yet less inherently stable, the shoulder complex relies on thoughtful movement for strength and health. Learn the unique anatomy of the shoulder, how it connects to the heart center (Anahata chakra), and how it supports both physical expression and emotional openness. We’ll explore how to “sculpt” your shoulder movements through proper alignment—finding the dance between effort and surrender in your yoga practice and daily life.

Part 5 of our Fall Yoga Anatomy Workshop Series, this class is open to all — yoga practitioners, teachers, and anyone with a body who wants to better understand and care for it. Through movement, yoga, dialogue, and study, this series will help you explore the design of your amazing body—from the ground up.

Each workshop blends:

-Foundational anatomy explained in clear, accessible language

-Embodied learning through yoga postures and mindful movement

-Guided self-reflection and Q&A to connect anatomy knowledge with your own experience

Bring your curiosity—and any specific questions about anatomy, injuries, or your yoga practice—to discover alignment tips, healing strategies, and practices for optimal wellness.

This workshop will be held in-person at the Chace Mill.
