Love Your Back:
An Exploration of Myofascial Release & Yoga
There are very few adults who have not experienced back tension at some point in their lives, and, unfortunately, many of us live with chronic back tension and pain. Thankfully, there exist powerful practices that help connect us to our deep central column of support, so that we can experience more integrity and expansion, both within our spine, and also within our emotional lives.
Our backs are involved in every movement we make and every breath we take. We benefit from an exploration of sound spinal alignment and core strength-building, but we also benefit as we deepen our capacity to expand and uplift our center through breath.
In this 2.5 hr workshop you'll enjoy a deep practice that gently relieves restrictions in tense areas around the spine while building core strength and breath awareness. You’ll have opportunities to reflect on the magical connections between breath, strength, alignment and energy that have been fascinating yogis for centuries. You'll be encouraged to observe yourself with curiosity and self-compassion while trying a mixture of yoga postures, breathing techniques and self-myofascial release techniques to thoroughly love up your back.
Expect to challenge yourself in moments but also to sink into restful postures, soothing breathwork and self-massage. The workshop fee includes 2 racquet balls to take home. Every participant will leave with self-massage and yoga techniques that can form a delicious back-loving self-care routine at home.
Your instructor, a massage therapist and yoga teacher, will use her combined areas of expertise to provide options and variations that are appropriate for all body types and ability levels.
This workshop will be held in-person at the Chace Mill.
