Zen Motion is a unique practice that concentrates stillness in mind and body through dynamic, meditative movement. In this class mundane gestures become the wakeful poise of asana. We walk, stand, sit, turn, bend and lie down embraced by limitless consciousness and perfect gravity. There is no goal, nothing to attain. With no mind the body can relax into not doing. Movement without identifying as the mover. This is a meditation focused on building open presence within a group setting. We play with the boundaries of our personal space and the edges of shared awareness. This is the practice of being in poetic space, releasing the confined agenda our mind places on the body, then flowing and bending naturally, seeing not obstacles but opportunities for a change in reaction.
