Teaching Yin & Restorative Yoga
with Emily Garrett
This week-long intensive for Yoga Teachers and yoga practitioners with some experience will be held in-person at the Chace Mill M-F
8 -11 am.
Yin and Restorative Yoga are a necessary component of any complete practice. We live in a yang culture, and it is imperative that we create balance by learning how to slow down, be present and attend to the needs of our ever changing bodies.
In this week-long intensive you will learn the basics of both practicing and teaching Yin and Restorative Yoga. Learn how to use props wisely, how to adjust the poses for different body types and injuries, and how to create an environment conducive to stillness and self inquiry. Learn techniques to work with the physical, energetic and mental aspects of the practice and how to facilitate a state of meditation for your students.
Each day we will focus on a different theme.
The session will begin with a lecture, followed by a group practice, and then get into the nuts and bolts of teaching and setting up the poses. You will learn different sequences to address different issues including, but not limited to, low back pain, shoulder injuries, digestive issues, headaches, anxiety and depression.
Includes optional reading homework each night and counts as 20 workshop hrs for those in the 300 hr training
