The next TEP will take place January to April, 2020
3 Saturday afternoons and one Weekend Workshop
Led by Julia Howe and guest teachers Sofi Dillof, Emily Garrett, Malaika DosRemedios and Deb Sherrer.

The Laughing River Yoga Teacher Enhancement Program is designed to build upon the skills of yoga teachers who have already completed a 200 hour yoga training program. Through community, continued guidance, mentoring, and knowledge we aim to provide tools to empower professional and personal growth.  We create a supportive community in which yoga teachers will deepen their pedagogic skills, make friends and develop a network of support.

This is an exciting opportunity to bring together yoga teachers ready to take it to the next level. Yogis have known for ages that there is great power and potential in gathering with like-minded people in satsang. Through the Teacher Enhancement Program, participants will have a forum to voice which area of study they want to focus on and shape the program according to the group’s specific interests.  This is a co-creation where participants have agency and will work together with each other and the trainers to fine tune the curriculum.  We will explore the following areas of study:

Yoga Philosophy
Theming classes
Advanced sequencing
Sanskrit chanting
Teaching pranayama
Skillfull physical assists
Basics of Trauma-informed teaching
Restorative and Yin Yoga

What makes the TEP different than a YTT? Is there a certification rewarded?
The Teacher Enhancement Program is designed to meet the needs of those teachers who have already completed a 200 hour yoga training program. While there is no certification given for the TEP, it is required for those participating in the LRY 300 hr Teacher Training Program.

Can you tell us a little bit about the LRY 300 hour Teacher Training?
Students who participate in the 300 hr YTT program have the opportunity to accumulate the necessary hours through approved workshops, classes, mentoring and studies over a three year period. This format will give students the time and space to complete the program in a way that fits their individual needs and interests.

Please tell us a little bit about yourself?

Julia– I am a 200-hr certified Kripalu Yoga teacher and 500-hr certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher. My teaching journey began in 2011, but my personal practice took root in 2003. When I started practicing asana more consistently, reading the cornerstone texts, and applying basic yoga philosophy and theory to my own life, a feeling of wholeness and deep connection began to blossom. My goal as a teacher is to ignite the same evolution within the hearts of those whom I meet along my path; to fertilize the seeds of love, truth, and oneness that already dwell within them.

Where do you envision TEP participants going next?
Wherever their hearts lead them with confidence and grace.
