We’re honored to have Katarina and Vladimir Kiripolsky as part of our yoga studio community. This May, we’re excited to feature this awesome couple as our Students of the Month. Here’s a little about why we think they’re each so special. Katarina wrote this response to some questions we asked to get to know she and Vladimir better. Thank you both for being you!
“We started to practice yoga regularly in January of 2017 after we went to a fundraising yoga class the month prior, for the five VT teenagers killed in a car accident in October 2016. I convinced Vlad to go with me and to my surprise he was very impressed and loved that class. I never expected that from a guy who was a hockey player and gym “goer.”
That year for Christmas I got him a ten class-card at LRY and he was hooked. I chose LRY because I’d taken a class there once before and loved the location and studio. Although it is not very close to home (we live in Bolton), we like LRY studio and don’t mind the drive.
We take classes together and as individuals according to our work schedules. Taking classes together gives us precious time to be together and build a new hobby. We also love the “pleasant pain” we feel after every class.
Yoga gives us the stretch we need in this time of our lives, along with mental clarity and peace of mind. Yoga is more about quality of the motion and less about quantity of time spent exercising.
In our free time we hike in the woods, Vlad is taking a German classes at CVU, I like to garden and putter around the house. Vlad is a good cook and I love to give him the opportunity to perfect his skills.
We have two adult sons and we enjoy spending time with them and watching them ‘grow.’
I hope Yoga will be our new life-time habit and we will be able to practice for many years to come.”
