We’re honored to have Jill Decarreau as part of our yoga studio community. This August, Jill is our student of the month. Here’s a little about why we think she’s so special. Jill wrote this response to some questions we asked to get to know her better. Thank you Jill for being you!

“Yoga makes me a better person. I am a nurturer at heart so I am always giving and yoga allows me to take time for me so I can refill my cup. It also helps me to stay flexible and healthy on the inside. I feel very connected to the Yoga community. We feel like family.  : )

I’ve been practicing yoga for 5 years. I had a hip problem and the doctors said it would be too dangerous to operate and I had heard that yoga could help. After one week of practicing my hip was feeling great with three Gentle classes per day.

Laughing River Yoga is my studio of choice because I feel safe and taken care of here. The teachers are professional and caring. I have attended many workshops and there are so many classes to choose from. I walk into the studio and I have a sense of coming home.

I just completed the Yoga Teacher Training program at LRY and it was the best gift I have ever given myself. It made me grow in so many ways but the most important thing it taught me was to trust in myself and to believe that I could do and accomplish anything as long as I am passionate about it. Thank you to all my Laughing River Yoga teachers for all your love and support.

When I’m not doing yoga, I wear many hats. I work as a social worker for three clients and I have a cleaning business. Recently I have been and active substitute for some Yoga classes. If I am not doing any of those I love hanging out with my family.

I love to read , cook and do yoga. My favorite food group is veggies. I love them all.
