YOGA FOR CYCLISTS
Thursdays: 7:30-8:45 pm
April 5-May 17 (no class April 26)
$60/series or drop-in for $13

This series explores the vital connection between yoga and biking.  Cultivate mindfulness and a deeper connection to the outdoors.  Locate the breath as your guide to inner awareness.  Strengthen your legs, core, and back to establish a stable foundation.  Liberate the tight areas in your hips, shoulders, and chest.  Understand the importance of your feet and hips in your biking and yoga evolution!  Learn to restore and relax your body more deeply.  Play with balance poses and inversions to increase concentration and tame fears.  Dissolve tension and ego obstacles, freeing you to respond rather than react and find more grace in your ride.  Practice bringing mindfulness into another aspect of your life.  Ultimately, it is this ability to integrate our practice into our world that brings us wisdom and purpose.  This is a friendly welcoming environment, open to all levels of practitioners.  Suitable for road cyclists, mountain bikers, commuters, or anyone looking to apply yoga to movement.

Meet Jennie Date:
Jennie Date started practicing yoga twelve years ago in response to a difficult life transition.  She discovered a practice that rejuvenated her body, calmed her mind, and most importantly, opened her heart. Seeking to find new perspectives and delve into the deeper layers of yoga, she has studied under several talented yoga teachers in the Burlington area.  She completed her certification in Vajra Yoga with Jill Satterfield and Emily Garrett, which integrates meditation directly into the hatha yoga practice, emphasizing the connection between body, mind, and heart.

In her classes, she strives to cultivate a safe environment for self-exploration, inviting students to connect with their inner voice and develop deeper self-acceptance.  In her own practice, she balances discipline with a sense of play, enjoying the movement and freedom of yoga.  Yoga and meditation has brought her steadiness, transformation, and an enduring trust in the process of life.  A devoted mountain biker, Jennie quickly learned how powerfully the grace of yoga transferred into mountain biking, enhancing her ability to flow with the natural landscape.  In 2011, she co-founded Singletrack Mindfulness, a retreat company that combines the yoga and mountain biking experience.  To learn more about Singletrack Mindfulness, please check out www.singletrackmindfulness.com.
